Personal Statement

The Internet is convenient, pervasive, and seductive in its simplicity because it offers digital natives the immediacy of information under the guise of education. Reach and reliance aside, the Web alone is no replacement for physical proximities of effective teachers, solid instruction, peer presence, and active accountability. Access and use of technology tools are invaluable in conjunction with the solid preparation for college and real-world readiness that instructors provide. Surfing for answers and being search-engine savvy does not ensure a competitive edge. Current and future learners who understand the importance of honing their critical thinking skills have a measureable advantage. Welcome to the Digital Age.
